Big Bend Community College (BBCC) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Nursing Instructor. This position is part of the instructional team for Big Bend's "career ladder" healthcare program for those entering the nursing profession. This position is responsible for teaching in a variety of healthcare areas and situations through lecture, lab, and clinical instruction. The program's "career ladder" includes three levels of certification; the beginning level is a one quarter Nursing Assistant "(NA) class; after four quarters of programmatic instruction, students are eligible for the Practical Nursing (PN) certificate; the career ladder culminates at the Associate Degree in Nursing DTA. The start date for this position is September 14, 2020. However, the successful candidate may begin work earlier based upon availability and the needs of the college. Salaries for nursing instructors are set at $90,000 for a 173-day contract with a signing bonus of $10,000. Nurse Educator salaries are funded, in part, from Legislative-approved funds under HB 2158. Our Nursing Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing and the Washington State Nursing Quality Assurance Board. The program capitalizes on the use of modern technology, including utilization of high fidelity simulation. The program serves up to 24 students in each year of the two-year program and maintains a low student to faculty ratio. Nursing courses are taught using flipped instruction and teaching assignments are arranged by topic.Big Bend Community College (BBCC) is a comprehensive public community college serving a large, rural district in central Washington State.
