The B.E. Meyers & Co. Engineering Manager energetically drives innovation, product development, and technical projects. With a focus on speed to market, manufacturability, and reliability, the Engineering Manager leads a team of talented engineers by assisting with and overcoming technical challenges or obstacles. He or She directs and coordinates product ideas and innovation and the product development process. Product design includes developing and maintaining Engineering technical knowledge and excellence from the component to the system level, including obsolescence and emerging and disruptive technologies in the current markets of B.E. Meyers & Co. Advanced project management skills are required to lead activities across many products and projects simultaneously, while clearly communicating priorities and expectations to ensure engineering commitments and deliverables are met. The Engineering Manager is responsible for Electrical, Software, Mechanical, and Optical engineering personnel. Technical brilliance is required in an engineering discipline, with enough experience and familiarity in all disciplines to effectively manage the engineering team. Working knowledge and an appreciation of firearms is a plus.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree required in an engineering discipline, Master's degree (M.S.) preferred; minimum of five years design experience; minimum of five years supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to draft customer and board level presentations and articles for publication.
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to apply mathematical skills to the modeling and solution of complex real-word design problems.REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Ability to model the essential aspects of a real-world problem and interpret the results in a practical manner. Ability to break down a complex problem into tractable pieces that enables other Engineers to understand the problem more clearly (i.e. making the solution obvious to all).
