MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred. Vocational training in refrigeration and mechanical equipment preferred. Certification in AC/Refrigeration and mechanical engineering preferred. Must have the ability to express oneself well in both oral and written communications. Five years’ experience in HVAC, heat pump maintenance, refrigeration and general building maintenance in a commercial or institutional setting required. Possess and maintain valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report and reliable, insured transportation.
PHYSICAL CONSIDERATIONS: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hand to finger or handle, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or listen. Requires the ability to lift and carry up to 55 pounds. This position also requires close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Some responsibilities may be near moving mechanical parts and exposed fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
