The Tukwila School District Special Education teacher is a highly qualified professional who is responsible for the delivery of specially designed instruction for student who have moderate to severe disabilities.
The teacher is responsible for instructing students on such a level as to allow the students to meet their IEP goals. The teacher must be qualified to teach Special Education in the state of Washington and be highly qualified in math, reading and language arts to teach students in grades K-5 for the Special Education Learning Resource Center 2 classroom.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have precise control of fingers and hand movements; be exposed to childhood diseases; be exposed to, or responsible for, potential health and safety risks and discomfort incurred by students or self; experience demands from a diversity of others, including students, parents, community and staff; demands of constant change; exertion, including fatigue and concentration; deal with distraught or difficult individuals The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and crouch, crawl, bend, or kneel; stand for prolonged periods; lift at least 50 pounds; and be exposed to high noise level. While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to wear protective gear or clothing.
Salary: Based on placement on 2018-2019 Certificated Salary Schedule
Days: 180 day contract
