Candidates do not need to have the testing completed before turning in the rest of the application packet. However, the applicant will need to complete the required testing at Lower Columbia College in Longview WA by the deadline noted above. The cost for the test is $59 and an appointment is required. Upon review of all application packets and test scores, successful candidates will be notified and invited back the week of May 14 for an interview panel. Target start date for this position is July 1.
Salary and Benefits of the Position:
2018 “Step A” Salary: $43,272 annually (+ generous benefits package)
Benefits of the position include annual paid vacation based on the number of years of service with the District, annual sick and holiday leave, medical/dental/life insurance package and Washington State PERS Retirement System. Other optional programs available to employees include a deferred compensation plan and additional life insurance for employees and dependents.

Duties of the Position:
This is a regular, full-time administrative support position responsible for secretarial and clerical functions of Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue. This position works Monday through Friday 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m., with a flexible one-hour lunch break.We are a service organization with a purpose to serve the citizens of our District. Commitment to the mission of Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue and the vision that embraces trust and support of the District and community. Coordination of schedules and teamwork are extremely important and required for this position, as well as strict confidentiality.
Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue is a Fire District governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners who are elected to serve six-year terms. The District operates out of five locations and encompasses 152.5 square miles serving approximately 34,400 citizens. District services include fire suppression and prevention, along with ALS transport. Service is provided by 34 career uniformed employees, 60+ volunteers, 2 full-time mechanics, and an administrative staff consisting of a Fire Chief, oneDeputy Chief, a Financial Analyst, two Fire Secretaries and a Fire Inspector. The Fire District’s budget for 2018 is$7,136,046.
