You can make a living or you can help change the world. Which do you prefer?
This is your chance to use your proven relationship building talents to impact the lives of thousands of young adults at the University of Notre Dame by joining our premier Development team. It doesn't matter if you would be new to a development role, it's your passion for the mission of the University, your desire to assist its amazing students and your proven ability to form long term, lasting relationships based upon trust and respect. This is a unique opportunity to combine your expertise in relationship sales or fundraising with your desire to impact the future of the University of Notre Dame, and the world, by raising financial support for its gifted students.
As a Director for Regional Development, working on the Notre Dame campus in South Bend, Indiana, you will serve as a front-line fundraiser supporting the University’s development efforts. We would love it if you can join us in South Bend and if you are willing to consider a move to the South Bend area, we will provide all the information you could ask that explains why South Bend has the quality of life, and cost of living, that will impress you.
You will help create the strategy and key performance activities to build ongoing relationships with leading benefactors within the Western Region of United States. You will use your proven relationship skills to work closely with academic leaders and Development Department colleagues to identify, cultivate and secure leadership level philanthropic gifts to support the University’s priorities. Each relationship begins with listening and understanding what the benefactor tells you is most important in their lives. With their passions as your guide, you will bring that benefactor into a closer, more personal relationship with Notre Dame, culminating in significant support of that area of the University that aligns with his / her most closely held interests.
Your Bachelor's degree, 3-5 years of relationship sales or fundraising /professional development experience, and a verifiable track record of closing business deals will serve as a solid foundation as you develop and grow our regional fundraising initiatives. What you don’t know. We will teach you. But, we can’t teach you how to connect on deep personal levels with people. You need to show us how you do that.
You will travel. You will meet donors in their personal and professional settings. You will get to know them, their families and their world view at a very intimate level. Then, you will take this hard won knowledge and craft a strategy specific to that benefactor that will, ultimately, reflect their interests in our students on campus for as long as Notre Dame exists. It sounds easy. It isn’t. But…it is fascinating, rewarding and meaningful work.
The question: Is it for you?
