JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

LOCATION:MosesLake

JOB DESCRIPTION:An experienced worker with the authority to follow standard methods and procedures or will establish precedents in work performance., and who is primarily responsible for the repair and maintenance of all plant equipment.

SPECIFIC JOB TASKS:VARIES WITH JOB FUNCTIONS, INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

1. Maintain plant equipment in a run condition and do assigned task as needed.
2. Works with quality assurance and sanitation departments to meet needs.
3. Makes constant walk-through of the area, shuts line down as necessary.  Interprets company policies and safety regulations.  Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists others in solving mechanical problems.
4. May coordinate scheduling with personnel to provide equipment functions.
5. All other duties assigned by supervisor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. STRENGTH – Lift 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
2. STAND/WALK – Stand and walka maximum of 3 hours prior to each break period.
3. CLIMB/BALANCE – Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding and the like using the feet and legs and/or hands and arms.  Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces.
4. REACH – Extend both hands and arms in any direction.
5. HANDLE – Seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with the hands.
6. SEE – Obtain impressions through the eyes of the shape, size, distance, motion, color, or other characteristics of objects.
7. TWIST AND TURN – Able to twist/turn trunk of the body from side to side.
8. STOOP – Bend the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
9. KNEEL – Bend the legs at the knees to come to rest on the knee or knees.
10. CROUCH – Bend the body downward and forward bending the spine and legs.
