JOB TITLE:FIELD SHOP MECHANIC
LOCATION:MosesLake
JOB DESCRIPTION:Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipments such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and agricultural production machines and equipment.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent mechanical skills
- Safety conscious
- Valid WA State drivers license
- CDL with class B with passenger endorsement, air brake restriction lifted
- Current DOT physical
- Provide and maintain minimum tool inventory
- Medical card
SPECIFIC JOB TASKS:INCLUDES, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment to diagnose machine malfunction and determine need for adjustment or repair.
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts and specified safety devices on equipment to make adjustments.
- Maintain and change batteries, rebuild engine components, repair of drive train components and other parts. Lubricate moving parts. Welding (electronic and gas), gas cutting, fabrication, air and hydraulic brake repair. Troubleshooting and repair faulty wiring, troubleshooting hydraulics, hydraulic component repair. Changing tires using air tools.
- Dismantle machines or equipment to examine parts for defect or to remove defective parts.
- Carry tools and equipment to and from storage areas and working areas.
- Assemble and test operate machines to verify correction of malfunction. Maintain and lubricate machine tools and equipment.
- Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
- Performs welding on equipment.
- Coordinates pea vining operations.
- All other duties assigned by supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- STRENGTH – Lift 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
- STAND/WALK – Stand, walk, a maximum of 3 hours prior to each break period.
- CLIMB/BALANCE – Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, with the using of feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, or standing.
- REACH – Extend both hands and arms in any direction.
- HANDLE – Seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with the hands.
- SEE – Obtain impressions through the eyes of the shape, size, distance, motion, color, or other characteristics of objects.
- TWIST AND TURN – Able to twist/turn trunk of the body from side to side.
- STOOP – Bend the body downward and forward by bending the spine and legs.
- KNEEL – Bend the legs at the knees to come rest on the knee or knees.
- CROUCH – Bend the body downward and forward bending the spine and legs.
- TALK – Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word.
- HEAR – Receive audio instruction over a two-way radio, listen for mechanical problems that may occur during operations.
- FINGERS – Pinch, pick or otherwise work with the fingers, rather than the whole hand or arm as in handling.
